Gustavo Petro postpones trip to Mexico due to accident – Grupo Milenio

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, postponed until tomorrow his trip to Mexico – scheduled for this Sunday – to accompany the families of the eight members of the Air Force of that South American country, who died in an accident in the department of Vichada.

Through his X account, Petro stressed that he also wants to personally accompany the investigation, to determine the causes of the incident.

“I have decided to postpone my trip to Mexico until tomorrow due to the Air Force helicopter accident. I want to accompany the families in their pain and continue the investigation personally to determine the causes of the event,” he highlighted.

Gustavo Petro’s arrival in our country was scheduled for this Sunday at 11:00 am. The president was going to arrive at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).

He was scheduled to lead a dialogue with the Colombian community this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Esperanza Iris Theater, located in the historic center of Mexico City.

On Tuesday he will attend the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum as the first president of Mexico.

In the morning, Gustavo Petro reported the death of eight members of the Air Force, who were traveling on a humanitarian mission in the department of Vichada, after their helicopter crashed to the ground.
