How much has Anthony Joshua made in his boxing career?

One of the most well-known figures in world boxing, “AJ” has an eye-watering reported net worth.

The majority of that comes from career winnings, according to Forbes estimates this year, with the rest a result of deals with brands including DAZN, Beats, Under Armour, Jaguar Land Rover and Hugo Boss.

Forbes has Joshua’s net worth at a little over £60m as of May 2024 – when he was ranked 16th on the publication’s list of the best-paid athletes in the world – but the Sunday Times Rich list has his fortune at £175m.

Turning professional a year after winning Olympic gold at London 2012, the now-34-year-old secured his first belt – coincidentally, the very same one he will be fighting to win back on Saturday – in 2016 before adding the WBA (Super) and IBO Heavyweight Championship titles to his collection by beating Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley in 2017.

The latter fight reportedly earned Joshua an estimated £12m, while his 2019 rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia saw his earnings reportedly soar to about £60m, in the same ballpark as his payday for his rematch against Usyk.

AJ secured nearly £40m by stopping former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in their fight this year, with other major multimillion pound purses from bouts against the likes of Ruiz Jr, Usyk, Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Carlos Takam and Otto Wallin over the years.

In total, his career earnings inside the ring – with 28 wins from his 31 professional bouts – come out to roughly £365m, per SportsCasting.com, with over £250m of that from his last 10 fights alone.

According to sportysalaries.com, Joshua is guaranteed to earn at least £6m with a 60 per cent share of PPV sales for Saturday’s fight. This could jump to £25m if the PPV purchases exceed one million.
