Starting November 1, 2024, Entrust certificates will no longer be trusted by default in Chrome. This only affects new certificates issued after October 31, 2024. Existing certificates will continue to work for now.

Google’s decision follows similar actions by Mozilla, which last month accused Entrust of failings. The incident highlights the importance of strict compliance standards for CAs, given the critical role they play in online security.
A spokesperson for Entrust told the The Register that the Chrome Root Program decision comes as a disappointment as a long-standing member of the CA/B Forum community.
