Josh Allen Says 1 QB Has A ‘Sneaky Big Arm’

In his first five seasons in the NFL, Baker Mayfield showed glimpses of being able to become a great quarterback, but something seemingly always held him back.

This season, however, he finally tapped into his potential on a consistent basis and became a true star, and he was rewarded with a spot in the Pro Bowl.

People are finally fully recognizing him for his abilities, and on FS1’s “Speak,” Buffalo Bills signal-caller Josh Allen said Mayfield has a “sneaky big arm” while even calling his arm a “cannon.”

When Mayfield came into the league as the No. 1 pick in the 2018 draft, a lot was expected of him.

He was taken there by the star-starved Cleveland Browns, who had recently suffered through the failures of Johnny Manziel, another massively hyped QB, and the hope was that Mayfield would be the prophet who would finally make them winners.

While Mayfield did deliver Cleveland their first playoff win since the mid-1990s, he couldn’t quite put it together there.

But this season, as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he threw for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns, which was the type of production many expected from him starting the day he was drafted.

Even better, he led the Buccaneers to a first-place finish in the NFC South and a resounding playoff win in the Wild Card round over the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Mayfield is about to become a free agent, but many expect Tampa Bay to come up with the money it will take to keep him in the fold for at least the next few years.
