Jumbo Foodmarkt has settled in The Mall of the Netherlands. It is the seventh location of the food market. It is the first time that Jumbo Foodmarkt operates under one roof with Albert Heijn XL.
The new location of the Jumbo Foodmarkt is three thousand square meters. Together with La Place, Jumbo wants to offer ‘a total experience in the field of food’. New concepts from Jumbo are also being tested. For example, a pilot is running in the fresh department to use less packaging and there are smaller vegetables on the shelves to prevent food waste.
Jumbo opened its first food market in 2013 in Breda. There are now also branches in Tilburg, Amsterdam and Veghel. At that time, the plan was to twelve to fifteen to set up one of these mega supermarkets in the Netherlands.
