Ukraine continued attacks on Russian military sites with a series of drone attacks, it has been reported.
Drones an artillery and missile arsenal in the village of Oktyabrskoye, the Tver oblast north of Moscow, Russian authorities have reported although Ukraine is yet to comment.
A missile and artillery arsenal was hit, which was used to store a large range of ammunition, according to Russian information resource ASTRA.
The incidents, which occurred overnight, have led to fires, explosions, and evacuations in the affected areas.
At least 1,200 people were evacuated from the Tikhoretsky District in Russia’s southwestern Krasnodar region, the local governor said on Saturday without specifically referencing the drone strike.
The latest facility to be attacked was the 23rd Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and is located near the 107th Arsenal, which was attacked a day earlier.
At the same time, Tikhoretsk in Krasnodar Krai experienced what local officials confirmed as a drone attack on an ammunition depot. The assault resulted in a fire and detonations.
The Russian Ministry of Defence claims to have intercepted and destroyed 101 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the night, including 18 over Krasnodar Krai and three in Tver Oblast.
Ukraine has long targeted Russian military sites, particularly using drones. The strikes aim to disrupt Russian logistics and munitions supplies crucial for the military campaign.
Earlier this week, President Vladimir Putin said Russia was ramping up drone production by around 10 times to nearly 1.4 million this year in a bid to ensure the Russian armed forces win in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, an overnight Russian missile strike on the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih killed a 12-year-old boy and two elderly women, regional governor Serhiy Lysak said on Saturday.
“Again, a terrifying enemy attack on Kryvyi Rih. In the middle of the night, when the city slept,” Lysak wrote on Telegram.
He said three more people were injured, and were taken to hospital with injuries of medium severity.
The two elderly women killed by the attack were 75 and 79 years old. Lysak also said two buildings were destroyed and 20 more damaged.
Kryvyi Rih, a major steel producing city, is just over 40 miles from the nearest Russian-occupied territory. It is regularly hit by air strikes.
