Secretary of Semar speaks by phone with Lloyd Austin- Grupo Milenio

The secretary of Mexican Navy (Semar), Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles, spoke by phone with the Secretary of Defense of the United Statess, Lloyd James Austin on October 11.

During the call, Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate bilaterally to face the challenges that afflict both nations.

”On October 11I had the pleasure of speaking by telephone with the Secretary of Defense of the United States, reaffirming the commitment to collaborate bilaterally between our armed forces, whose objective is to protect and serve with honor, discipline and loyalty,” reads the message published by the Secretary of the Navy of Mexico, in his official X account.

The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico has worked jointly with the United States armed forcesespecially in training issues.

There are even programs to exchange elements from Mexico and the United States for training issues.

Who is Raymundo Pedro Morales?

Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles He was born in the city of San Ildefonso, Sola de Vega, Oaxaca, On July 4, 1966, he was 58 years old.

He entered the Mexican Navy as a cadet at the Heroic Naval School on August 1, 1983.graduated in 1987 with the rank of midshipman; In 1989 he obtained the title of engineer in naval sciences, with an honorable mention.

According to his curriculum vitae, his academic training includes various studies, among which the following stand out.

At the Center for Higher Naval Studies:

  • Master in National Security.
  • Master in Naval Administration.
  • Diploma of General Staff.
  • Naval Command Specialty.
  • Naval Communications Specialty.

At the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM):

  • Diploma in Education with Telematic Technologies
  • Diploma in Educational Evaluation
  • Diploma in Computer Security
  • Completed the credits of the Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering (Operations Research)
  • He has studies at the National Polytechnic Institute and the National School of Telegraphy and Telecommunications.

He also took Defense Policies and Strategies courses at the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies at the National Defense University of the United States of America; Course for the Inspection Officer and Instructor in the Application of Maritime Laws, by the US Coast Guard.

According to his resume, he served as general director of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Other relevant positions he has held are:

  • Commander of the Ninth and Thirteenth Naval Zone
  • Head of the Fifth Section (Communications) of the General Staff of the Navy
  • Director of the Center for Higher Naval Studies
  • Inspector of the Command of the Fourth Naval Zone,
