Leticia Ramírez and Mario Delgado- Grupo Milenio

The outgoing Secretary of Public Education, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, and the incoming Secretary, Mario Delgado Carrillo, On Monday, September 30, they held the delivery-reception ceremony of the agency.

During the event, Leticia Ramírez highlighted progress in the implementation of the program Benito Juárez Wellbeing Scholarships; the delivery of support for the improvement of educational infrastructure through the program The School is Ours, and the dignification of the teaching profession with the basification of more than 960 thousand places for teachers.

He also highlighted the construction of new study plans and programs for ANDBasic and Higher Secondary education, as well as the development of the news Free Textbooks from the New Mexican School (NEM), to guarantee the access of girls, boys, adolescents and adults to the provision of quality educational services.

According to a statement, the outgoing official thanked the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador their support, as well as the public servants who collaborated in the administration, for their commitment to the objectives of the self-proclaimed fourth transformation to consolidate the paradigm shift in public education in the country.

Besides, Mario Delgado Carrillo said that his purpose in the sector is to make everyone work together for the people of Mexico.

“With the guidance of the model of the New Mexican School and the fundamental premises of this process of fourth transformation of public life in Mexico of which we have the honor and fortune to be co-participants and co-protagonists,” he said.

He stated that it is an honor to take the lead of the SEP to provide continuity to the educational policy in the administration of the next president, Claudia Sheinbaum, who will be sworn in on Tuesday, October 1st.

“As we all know, there is no long-term process of political transformation in history that is not accompanied by an equally transformative and revolutionary proposal for education, because every liberation of social and political forces must be channeled in the educational process so that “Generation after generation, the bases and foundations of the country are established and consolidated as the basis of our pride,” he expressed.

New appointments in the education sector

During the afternoon of September 30, Sheinbaum Pardo made new appointments in the education sector.

He appointed Angélica Noemí Juárez Pérez, undersecretary of Basic Education of the SEP; Tania Rodríguez Mora, Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education; while at the front of the Federal Educational Authority of Mexico City (AEFCM) appointed Luciano Concheiro Bórquez.

In addition, in the National Coordination of Scholarships for Well-being Benito Juárez (CNBBBJ) appointed Julio César León Trujillo, and ratified as head of the Coordinating Body of Universities for Wellbeing Benito Juárez García to Raquel Sosa Elízaga.

All appointments will take effect starting at 00:00 hours. from October 1, 2024.
