During his time as coach of Striped from Monterrey, The Piojo realized that some of his players were shooting at each other with a paint gun, so he had to prohibit these types of objects in the concentrations.

“I repeat, it was a concentration within a training camp where no one got involved. I’m realizing that the players were playing gotcha, They even brought the rifles and masks“, he said during the program The Last Word.
Regarding this, Herrera mentioned that he had to act firmly in front of the players, because he knew that a bad hit could cause them some injury or discomfort for the game.
“Obviously I had to prohibit them because, between jokes, they hit each other hard.. I told them that, with everything and protections, an accident could happen. The next day we were playing a game and imagine a leg crash and the next day I can’t move my leg properly,” added Piojo.
As coach of Rayados, Herrera reached two Mexican soccer finals, in the Apertura 2004 and 2005.but lost to Pumas and Toluca, respectively.
