After the effects of two weather phenomena that hit the port of Acapulco, hoteliers, restaurateurs and tourism service providers are grouping together to change the image of the port.
They assure that it is about creating a better Acapulco, greater resilience with the people of Buenos Aires, with which the port will be increasingly stronger, and with this we will see this tourist destination rise, said Luis Smithers Jiménez, president of the Association of Hotels and Companies. Acapulco Tourism (AHETA).
In a press conference, the representative of the hoteliers, accompanied by tourism and restaurant service providers, admitted that they are concerned about the demonstrations, blockades and insecurity.
“We hope that the violence goes down, but that is not in our hands, what corresponds to us is the tourist promotion of the city and inviting people to come, so we trust that the strategy will work,” he said when asked about the violence.
The above, during a conference where they announced that they will give the vote of confidence to the federal, state and municipal government authorities, after presenting a program to reactivate the tourist image to attract more vacationers to the port.
Smithers Jiménez, president of AHETA, admitted that they are living in difficult times, but said that they are not proposing something that they are unaware of, but the sectors must contribute to the recovery of Acapulco, he stressed.
He also pointed out that Acapulco can no longer be just sand, sea and sun, so he said it should be considered that the city has new tourist products to attract new tourists.
He even pointed out that “Acapulco has loyalty and when they least expect it, the port fills up,” the hotel leader boasted.
That is why he urged hoteliers, tourism service providers and restaurateurs to continue promoting the loyalty that people have to Acapulco as tourism providers,” he emphasized.
