Inhabitants of the communities of the municipalities of San Marcos and Cruz Grande, block the Acapulco-Pinotepa Nacional federal highway, demanding that the federal government apply censuses where they suffered damage from Hurricane John.
Since early on, residents of the communities of the municipality of San Marcos have demanded that the federal government provide them with support after the damage caused by the hydrometeorological phenomenon John.
With cardboard and photographs they show the damage caused by the torrential rains that affected the entire Costa Chica, and complaints regarding the refusal to carry out the census in that coastal town.
“We want to be taken into account, San Marcos needs to be censused,” the peaceful movement points out on its cardboard. Another says “San Marcos, Guerrero needs to be censused”, “President Claudia, San Marcos needs a census”, among others demanding the attention of the executive branch.
Under an inclement sun, dozens of women stood early on the federal highway, and there they placed logs, stones, cars, branches, and closed both directions of the highway in San Marcos.
“Let them come to see us, let them come back to see us, because we have been affected, because just look at how this property is, this house was practically destroyed, gentlemen.
“Here we are from all of San Marcos, we are from all the colonies of La Zapata, La Jardín, Alta Villa, Santa Cruz, La Progreso, Fifth Section, El Cántaro, from all the colonies,” said Mario Villanueva from San Marcos. Villanueva.
On the federal highway, dozens of private and public service vehicles are stranded.
The protesters are waiting for a response from federal and state government authorities.
“We have always been affected and they have never taken us into account, since when it was Ingrid and Manuel, Otis and now John, they also ignored us, but Mrs. Claudia listen to us, we are affected people and that is why we are fighting for our rights,” he expressed. While residents of Cruz Grande closed the highway and shouted “servants of the nation, do not sell yourself for commission,” and demand to be counted, because they claim that they have not been considered despite the damage.
The residents closed the federal highway with logs and stones, as well as vehicles and even bicycles.
