The president of the General Council of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, denied the existence of an internal conflict in the electoral body, after six of the eleven councilors agreed to file a constitutional controversy to cancel the “superpowers” that Congress granted them to unilaterally designate heads of technical units.
He also refused to feel any discomfort due to the differences between the electoral councilors, since, he said, in the collegiate bodies “there are moments when we have total agreements and there are moments where “We struggle a little more to reach agreements, but they are reached.”
This Thursday, Taddei attended the installation of the Electoral Political Reform Commission of the Chamber of Deputies in the San Lázaro Palace and, in that context, he was questioned about the initiative of the Morenoist legislator Sergio Gutiérrez Luna to elevate his new powers to constitutional rank as president advisor to unilaterally appoint those responsible for the executive directorates of the areas and members of the General Executive Board, whose appointments were made in a collegial manner.

“There is no internal conflict in a collegiate council capable of not being resolved.”
The president advisor of the INE questioned, however, the majority agreement of the General Council of the INE to challenge his “superpowers” before the Supreme Court.
“There is not even the power to do so as a constitutional controversy, but it is an agreement that was made in the General Council proposed by six ministries and it must be assimilated.”
During the installation meeting of the Electoral Political Reform Commission, Taddei recognized the complexity of the electoral process to elect judges, magistrates and ministers in 2025, but assured that The professionalism of the INE will allow the organization and celebration of the day to be carried outto the first Sunday in June of next year.
