590 elements of the National Guard are deployed in Culiacán, Sinaloa- Grupo Milenio

The governor Ruben Rocha Moya announced on his official X account that 590 elements of the National guard are already deployed in Culiacan to reinforce security in the city.

The mobilization aims to guarantee the protection citizen while the extraordinary review of the Municipal Police’s weapons is carried out, in compliance with the Official Collective License (LOC) 204.

“590 elements of the National Guard are already deployed in the city of Culiacán to protect security and citizen proximity while the extraordinary weapons review of the Official Collective License (LOC) 204 corresponding to the municipal police concludes,” wrote Rocha Moya on the social network.

This deployment occurs in a context of increasing violence in the capital of Sinaloa, attributed to the clashes between criminal groups.

The coordination between the National guard and state forces is crucial to maintaining order and peace in the region during this period of review of police weapons, a process that has taken longer than usual due to the number of elements that make up the Municipal Police from Culiacán.

Change of command in Third Military Region

The state leader headed the change of command ceremony in the Third Military Region, which from now on is commanded by the Brigadier General, Diplomate of the General Staff, Guillermo Briseño Loberaby instructions of the president of Mexico and supreme commander of the Armed Forces, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

“We hope that they will help us, and they will help us, with all the measures that the Army is taking, first of all, which has not stopped being with us, also the National Guard, the Air Force, the Navy and the State Police, Well, they are very coordinated working and this has helped us reduce, not finishing yet, unfortunately we cannot say that it is already finished,” said the governor.

Elements of the National Guard join the deployed contingent

The 590 elements of the National Guard join the contingents deployed in the state of the Special Forces of the Mexican Army and the Air Force, which since last September have maintained security operations in the central area of ​​the state.

Regarding the change of command ceremony, the person responsible for taking the oath of office to the new commander of the Third Military Region was the commander of the Army, the Division General, Diplomate of the General Staff, Norberto Cortés Rodríguezhaving Governor Rubén Rocha Moya himself as a witness, and as representative of the government of Durango, the Secretary General of the Government, Hector Eduardo Vela Valenzuela.

The new commander, General Briseño, has extensive career in military serviceand postgraduate studies such as a Master’s Degree in Military Administration for National Defense, and previously he has been commander of the 40th Military Zone, based in Guerrero; and also from the 16 Military Zone, located in Guanajuato.
