The second day of CSIO Barcelona not only stood out for its high sporting level, but also for the presence of some of the most prominent figures in the city’s social and political life. The mayor of Barcelona, ​​Jaume Collboni, did not want to miss this exclusive event, and arrived accompanied by David Escudé, Sports Councilor of the City Council and delegate president of the Sports and Physical Activity Area of ​​the Barcelona Provincial Council, as well as Jordi Hereu, current minister of Industry and Tourism.
The guests enjoyed a traditional gala dinner within the framework of the City of Barcelona Grand Prix, one of the most anticipated events of the CSIO. The evening stood out not only for its special atmosphere, but also for the importance of the attendees, who have turned the CSIO into an unmissable event on the Barcelona social calendar.
This year, the CSIO celebrates its 112th edition at the iconic Real Club de Polo de Barcelona, ​​consolidating itself as one of the most prestigious events, not only in the equestrian field, but also in the social and cultural panorama of the city.
At the end of the evening, the CSIO Barcelona crowned Michael Pender as the winner of the City of Barcelona Grand Prix, a test with the highest height, 1.60 m, in the international competition. After a spectacular jump-off to which 12 of the 43 initial participants participated, the Irish rider, riding Hhs Calais, completed a very fast route, making the large audience that attended the Real Polo Club of Barcelona vibrate. Pender was the only one to go under 51 seconds in the day’s big test.
