FIREFIGHTERS from Tallaght Fire Station battled a blaze in a field near a busy residential areas in Newlands Cross last night.
Fire fighters were alerted about a large grass on fire at Newlands Cross in the early hours of Friday evening.
The field is located near the popular residential area, which is home to numerous families and vulnerable people.
Tallaght Fire Station crew quickly responded to the report and rushed to the scene where a part of the field was on fire.
However, the fire crew quickly dealt with the fire by using the special backpack sprayers that are designed for these types of fires.
The fire was extinguished, and left the scene as area was now safe from fires.
The video shows there was some damage to the grass and bushes.
But the residential area was still intact and wasn’t in danger from the grass fire.
It is unknown what was the cause of the fire.
Dublin Fire Brigade were also called to an industrial fire in Swords on Thursday.
Industrial fire in Swords
The fire crew were alerted that an industrial building was on fire in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Four fire engines responded to the report and rushed to the scene.
Water supplies were augmented by using their water tanker and foam unit to deal with the blaze.
The fire was reported to be dealt with as the fire crew carried out safety checks to ensure there wouldn’t be any further outbreaks of fire.
Dublin Fire Brigade shared a picture from the scene, revealing that the industrial building was badly damaged from the fire.
The roof collapsed due to the support beams deteriorating during the fire.
Items and objects were also seen to be severely burnt.
It is unknown what was the cause of the fire.
Dublin Fire Brigade has been reached out for a comment about the industrial fire.
