Tonight, within the framework of the 112th edition of the CSIO Barcelona, the long-awaited HM the Queen’s Cup – Freixenet Trophy – Generalitat de Catalunya Award was held, one of the highlights of the event. The competition once again brought together the great stars of international show jumping, with top-level names such as the number one in the world ranking, the Swede Henrik von Eckermann. German Olympian Christian Kukuk, as well as Olympic medalists Steve Guerdat, from Switzerland, and Maikel van der Vleuten, from the Netherlands, who hold the silver and bronze medals, respectively, also competed on the Barcelona club’s Olympic track.
Among these jumping giants, our young rider Sira Martínez also shone with her own light. Riding Pipper des Vergers Z, the big star of her stable, Sira had a good ride with a demolition.
More than eight hundred diners enjoyed the evening from the new stands of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona. Among them, renowned personalities stood out such as the president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, the Conseller d’Esports of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Berni Álvarez, and Javier Godó, Count of Godó, who shared the experience in an environment elegant and sobriety.
The competition concluded with an exciting jump-off and the victory of the Swiss Markus Fuchs riding Commissar Pezi, followed by the French Kevin Staut with Dialou Blue Ps and the Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli. Fuchs received the trophy from the president of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, while Beni Álvarez, Conseller d’Esport, presented him with the Generalitat de Catalunya Award.
