Hurricane Milton, now category 4, will leave “torrential” rains on the east coast of Mexico this Monday, particularly on the Yucatan Peninsula, although it is not expected to make landfall, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).The cyclone “continues to intensify, its circulation will cause very heavy rains to occasional torrential rains in the northeast, east, south and southeast of the country, including the Yucatan Peninsula; in addition to strong winds and high waves on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico,” the agency reported. Milton’s predicted trajectory indicates that it would reach its closest distance to Mexican territory on Tuesday, near Yucatan, and on Wednesday in Florida, United States.
