A pipe that transported nitric acid overturned this Monday at kilometer 77 of the coastal highway 200near the town of Chamomile. Fortunately, the incident did not cause spills of the dangerous substanceleaving only material damage to the unit.
Motorists who witnessed the accident notified the authorities, which allowed the rapid mobilization of Aquila Civil Protection. Due to the nature of the material transported, support was requested from specialized corporations of Lázaro Cárdenas. Civil Protection, Firefighters from the Buenos Aires municipality and elements of the National guard.
Representatives of the company that owns the pipe immediately showed up to carry out the work of transferring the nitric acid safely. For its part, the National guard proceeded to road closure in the accident areatemporarily suspending traffic to ensure the safety of motorists.
The authorities reported that the situation is under control and that the operation continues to secure the area and prevent any additional incident.
