They denounce addicted parents who abandon their children in Sinaloa- Grupo Milenio

Neighbors of the Goros Viejo communityin the municipality of Ahome in Sinaloa, They publicly denounced an alarming case of neglect and possible parental abuse; They ask the authorities to intervene for the good of five children who live in an apparent state of abandonment and malnutrition due to the serious situation of drug addiction on the part of their parents.

The neighbors narrated to reporters from the local media Mercurio, that a couple named María Guadalupe and Juan, keep their five children in deplorable conditionss: Esmeralda, 4 years old, Yohana, 7, Pedro, 8, Delia, 10, and a 7-month-old baby.

Residents of the area have reported that children live with hunger, thirst and illness, while witnessing their parents’ addictions. Despite the complaints made to the DIF, the situation has not improved.

“They have come and left groceries, but as soon as they leave, the children sell them to buy drugs,” declared a neighbor.

“Why don’t the DIF and the Attorney General’s Office intervene? This is serious,” exclaimed one of the complainants.

Besides, only two of the four children attend school irregularlywhere they show signs of malnutrition and abandonment.

Testimonies indicate that parents send children to beg for money on the streets, and that Juan, the father, is violent and uses drugs. The situation of the baby, who was born in critical conditions due to drug use during pregnancy, is also alarming.

Neighbors have expressed concern for the children’s well-being. and they have called on the Office of the Attorney General for the Defense of Minors and the Family, as well as the DIF Ahome, to carry out an immediate investigation into this case before it ends in tragedy.
