Boston Police arrest suspect in Roxbury fatal shooting

Boston Police nabbed their suspect in a Tuesday morning shooting.

Officers were dispatched a little after 1:35 a.m. to 17 Hammond St. in Roxbury for a report of a person shot. There, they found the male victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Later that same day, detectives arrested Widmaer Lapaix, 27, of North Attleboro, for the murder. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

Details on how Lapaix came to be suspected were not immediately available. The Herald has requested the police report.
