The president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, accused the judge who ordered the withdrawal of the judicial reform decree from the Official Gazette of the Federation “exceed their duties” with said action.
When leading the Comprehensive Welfare Programs event from Escárcega, Campeche, the federal president indicated that, after reviewing the Amparo Law, article 61 establishes that said legal resources They cannot influence when there are constitutional reforms.
“I take this opportunity to tell you on June 1, 2025, all the people of Mexico are going to elect judges, magistrates and ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, because that was the will and decision of the people, that is why the constitution. Now recently, a judge wants us to remove the constitutional reform from the Official Gazette of the Federation where the reforms are published, for an amparo and this morning I was reading the Amparo Law and in article 61 it says the Amparo Law clearly it cannot influence when there are constitutional reforms, that is, the judge is overstepping her limits,” he said.
Sheinbaum Pardo maintained that he will not remove the publication from the DOF, since, “the judge is not within her rights” and that there will be an election of judges, ministers and magistrates.
“That is why we said, the people of Mexico elected their leaders, their deputies, their senators, they want to elect judges, magistrates and ministers, and we are not going to lower that publication because the judge is not within her rights,” he said.
At the end of the event, interview, President Sheinbaum recommended Judge Nancy Juárez Sala “read the Amparo Law.”
“Read article 61 of the protection law. There the first paragraph says, the protection is not valid, it is inadmissible, it is the article that says when the protection is inadmissible. And there in the first point it says for constitutional reforms,” he emphasized.
