LONDON — Patriots rookie right guard Layden Robinson was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.
Robinson suffered the injury late in the first quarter. He was originally deemed questionable to return, tested the ankle out on the sideline and determined he couldn’t go back into the game.
The rookie was an early-season starter before being benched Week 5. He was starting Sunday because the Patriots had to shuffle their offensive line with left tackle Vederian Lowe out with an ankle injury. That moved right tackle Demontrey Jacobs to left tackle, right guard Mike Onwenu to right tackle and Robinson off the bench.
It was the Patriots’ seventh different offensive line combination in seven games.
The Patriots already placed center David Andrews (shoulder) and rookie tackle Caedan Wallace (ankle) on injured reserve. Week 1 starting left tackle Chukwuma Okorafor left the team prior to Week 2. The Patriots cut Nick Leverett, who started Week 5 at center, last week.
