The Argentine model Valentina Ferrer and J. Balvin were recognized for their altruistic work in the d10th Gala of Glasswing International, where it was delivered the Glasswing Humanitarian Award to Howard G. Buffett, Chairman and CEO of the Howard G. Buffett Foundationfor its impact on the lives of young people and communities worldwide.

The model Valentina Ferrer was honored for her volunteer service and mentoring of young migrants recently arrived in New York; The businesswoman announced a new alliance with Glasswing and the global artist J. Balvin to support young people in New York and Colombia through J. Balvin’s Vibra En Alta foundation.

The recognition took place during National Hispanic Heritage Month and World Mental Health Day, which brought together more than 450 peopleamong them prominent business leaders, fashion pioneers, diplomats, celebrities committed to causes who enjoyed cocktails, dinner, dancing and a special closing DJ Bash at Cipriani 25 Broadway.

Glasswing International is a non-profit organization based in El Salvador that has a mission to build a brighter future for communities in America, as well as transform public schools into safe community spaces to improve learning outcomes and train staff to access mental health support.

“The central mission of our Foundation is to catalyze transformative changes to improve the level and quality of life of the most impoverished and marginalized populations in the world. Young Central Americans can be agents of change in their countries of origin if we have the audacity to believe and invest in them. We thank Glasswing for always believing and investing,” Buffett said.

at the gala Howard Warren Buffett announced the Foundation’s commitment to donate an additional $11.6 million to continue the work.

“Glasswing has been a key partner for us in that effort in Latin America, where we have not only been able to impact the lives of millions of young people, but also demonstrate what is possible when you invest in communities,” he shared.

Since 2018 Glasswing has included programs such as Young Impact Leaders, who provide initial work experiences, life skills training and support to youth from Guatemala and Honduras, while developing and leading community projects.

Since 2007, Glasswing has mobilized and invested more than $220 million in Latin America, the Caribbean and New York.

Over the years has impacted the lives of more than six million people, mobilizing more than 150,000 volunteers in the process.
