The Monterrey team Fuerza Regia won the second game of the series against Santos del Potosí By a score of 88-67, they remained undefeated at home and in first place in the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP) standings.
From the first quarter, Jonathan Dunn vaccinated the visitors with four triplesbut in the second quarter, Monterrey was closed off from the basket and in the ten minutes it only managed to score 13 points, a situation that Santos del Potosí took advantage of by serving themselves with 24.
Despite the low production, Fuerza Regia remained ahead on the scoreboard, now 40-37.
Monterrey came back from the locker room more accurate to take the partial 26-16 and increased the difference overall (64-53) although in the first minutes of the quarter Santos continued to press.
The current champions defended the home and in the fourth quarter they kept their production above 20 points; with the exception of Micah Speight, coach Pablo García used all his players against Santos.
With 20 points, two rebounds and two assists, Dunn was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. For Santos, Jesús Cruz and Terry Larrier contributed 11 points each.
Fuerza Regia will visit the León Bees on Thursday and Friday.
