The explosion of a tear gas bomb caused a fire in a home located in the Guadalupe Victoria neighborhoodbelonging to a Civil Guard police officer.
The events occurred this afternoon, when the detonation generated a fire that quickly alerted the residents of the area, who called the emergency number. Upon receiving the report, Morelia firefighters moved to Miguel Cervantes Fénix Street to control the flames, which completely consumed one bed and partially damaged another, in addition to several appliances in the home.
During debris removal work, firefighters found an activated tear gas grenadewhich was identified as the cause of the fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries, only significant material damage to the home.
Authorities will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine responsibility and prevent future events of this type.
