Trade fair Cybersec Netherlands starts a collaboration with Platform Safe Entrepreneurship (PVO), Municipality of Utrecht and Police Netherlands. The goal is to let entrepreneurs in SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) experience what cybercrime can do to a company.
A unique virtual reality (VR) game will be on the trade fair floor, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of cybercrime. In addition, the police will talk about their experiences with cybercrime in the Netherlands. Cybersec Netherlands trade fair will be held on 6 and 7 November 2024 at Koninklijke Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
Trade fair emphasises the importance of cyber resilience for entrepreneurs
Mick den Dijker, trade fair manager: “We are going to collaborate with the police, the municipality of Utrecht and PVO to offer sufficient supply for entrepreneurs in the SME sector who want to start with cybersecurity. They often do not have a special department with this expertise and are mainly looking for practical solutions to make their company resilient to cybercrime. One of the activities that we jointly offer on the trade fair floor is the VR game in which cybercrime plays a central role.”
The VR game gives entrepreneurs insight into tactics used by cybercriminals. After playing the game, the various choice moments are discussed and the entrepreneurs receive tips on how to ensure that they do not become a victim or become as little as possible. Platform Veilig Ondernemen also gives presentations on the dangers of cybercrime and how entrepreneurs can protect themselves against it. The Dutch Police shares information and strategies on how law enforcement officers combat cybercrime in the region.
