On her Instagram account, Daniela shared a video and photos of her return to the fashion shows in Paris: “After 4 years I’m back on the catwalk, but this time with my prosthesis“, wrote.

Why was Daniela Álvarez’s leg amputated?
In June 2020, the model said that it all started in May when they were going to do a “an operation that was supposed to be simple”: the removal of “a very small lump, like a coin (…) that I had in my abdomen.”
“But it turns out that when the doctors came in to remove this lump, they realized that it was absolutely stuck to the aorta and in young people the arteries do not work the same as in adults. At that moment when they went to remove my lump, my aorta (…) closed,” he added.
Because of this situation, he underwent a second operation so that doctors could reconstruct his aorta with a graft, but there was no improvement.
“I had an aortic reconstruction with a graft that did not work well with my body and I had to undergo a third operation, where with another type of graft the aorta turned out very well but it caused me ischemia – cellular stress due to a temporary decrease in blood flow – from the part of my navel down to my feet.”
