Boston Police tow vehicle from Randolph possibly involved in Dorchester shooting

The Boston Police may have gotten a lead on a Dorchester shooting thanks to a vehicle found in Randolph.

“Boston Police are towing a vehicle (with) ballistic damage recovered in Randolph back to Boston,” BPD spokesman Sgt. Det. John Boyle wrote in a brief statement this afternoon, adding that at this stage investigators believe “this vehicle may be connected to a shot spotter activation this morning at 246 Harvard St., Dorchester at about 11:16 AM.”

A ShotSpotter activation is an alarm issued by the ShotSpotter network of urban microphones used to detect possible gunfire.

A Boston NBC 10 aerial photo showed a police presence at a Mobil gas station in Randolph that they reported could be where the vehicle was found.

Additional information was not immediately available.
