The legislator and president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of DeputiesIfigenia Martínez, will deliver the presidential sash of the Executive to Claudia Sheinbaum.
President López Obrador celebrated that Ifigenia Martínez be the one who delivers the sash of the first president of Mexico, highlighting her career as one of the first people in doing studies on economic inequality and social in Mexico, as well as a precursor of the democratic movement of ’88 along with Cuauhtemoc Cardenas and Porfirio Muñoz Ledo.

In 1988, representative Socorro Díaz Palacios became the first woman to participate in the handover of the Executive during the inauguration of former president Carlos Salinas de Gortari. Later, in 1994, PRI member Carlota Guadalupe Vargas Garza did the same with Ernesto Zedillo.
