The Tennessee Titans achieved their first win of the year this Monday by beat the erratic Miami Dolphins 12-31 at the close of week 4 of the 2024 NFL season.
Tennessee rose to third place in the South division of the American Conference with a 1-3 record. The Dolphins, They have the worst offense in the NFL with only 45 points scoredare last in the AFC East at 1-3.
The Titans had a hard time making their attack work due to abandonmenteither due to an injury in the first quarter to Will Levis, their starting quarterback.
In the first half, Tennessee took a 3-9 lead on three field goals by Nick Folk.
With Miami, Tyler Huntley, hired last September 16, was the ‘quarterback’ who started due to the concussion that Tua Tagovailoa, the star, suffered in week 2 of the campaign, and the rib injury that his backup Skyler Thompson suffered in Week 3 in the loss to the Seahawks.
Without Tua at the controls, Miami’s offense was a disaster in the first half in which it barely gained 77 yards, 50 on the ground and 27 through the air. He was only able to generate points with a 44-yard field goal by Jason Sanders.
In the third quarter, coach Brian Callahan’s team managed to extend the lead thanks to a rushing score by Tyjae Spears and another three-point kick. Dolphins answered with a field goal to make the score 6-19.
In the fourth quarter the Titans pulled away 6-22 with another three-point kick. Miami had a late reaction with a rushing touchdown by Tyler Huntley that brought them within 12-22.
The Florida team continued its tendency to make errors with an auto-score that was scored by Tyler Huntley that made the score 12-24 for the Titans who closed the game with a run to the end zone by Tony Pollard that sealed the 12-31 end.
Week 4 will conclude later with the Lions-Seahawks game.
