GALWAY boss Padraic Joyce will take charge of Connacht in the FRC’s provincial tournament later this month.
New rule proposals by the Jim Gavin-led Football Review Committee will be trialled in the games which will take place at Croke Park on October 18 and 19.

The provincial sides will be made up of inter-county players who have exited their respective club championships, and the provincial councils will no play no part in the makeup of the squads.
Two semi finals will be played on Friday, October 18 with a final and shield final the following day.
Munster will be managed by Cork boss John Cleary, outgoing Westmeath manager Dessie Dolan will take the Leinster reins and Fermanagh gaffer Kieran Donnelly will be Ulster boss.
All players involved will be briefed on the rules to be trialled at the games as the FRC continue to finalise a report to be brought before the GAA’s central council later this month.
Any rule change proposals agreed to by top brass will be brought before a special congress on November 30.
The changes include replacing penalty shoot-outs with novel “overtime showdowns,” keeping three players in attack, awarding four points for a goal and two for a point scored outside a new 40-metre arc.
