Organizations prepare actions to demand attention due to Hurricane John – Grupo Milenio

The Community Police, the Regional Council of Agrarian Authorities and the Mountain Human Rights Center (CDHM), are preparing actions to demand that the three levels of government channel support towards the most marginalized communities, as they maintain that until now, the Attention has been focused on Costa Chica and the port of Acapulco.

Since the afternoon of Wednesday, October 2, the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities (CRAC-PC), the CDHM-Tlachinollan and the CRAADET made known their disagreement with the way in which the State and Federation are handling the contingency generated by the effects of the Hurricane John.

The organizations have convened for next Sunday, October 6, in the morning at the CRAC House of Justice in the community of Espino Blanco, municipality of Malinaltepec.

The intention, they highlight, is to analyze the management and request channels, so that the authorities attend to the Mountain communities that were seriously affected by the hurricane and that have not been attended to so far.

“Several of our agricultural centers and communities have their roads destroyed, crops destroyed, homes affected without the authorities intervening so far,” the text states.

They reproach: “All the support and attention has been focused on Acapulco and Costa Chica, while our region, already in poverty, has not deserved the government’s concern.”
