Joe Jonas drops ‘Diddy’ lyric in ‘Cake by the Ocean’ amid Sean Combs’ sex crimes scandal

Joe Jonas drops ‘Diddy’ lyric in ‘Cake by the Ocean’ amid Sean Combs’ sex crimes scandal

Joe Jonas is the latest star to distance himself from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex crimes scandal.

The singer recently took the stage at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France, to perform his band DNCE’s hit track “Cake by the Ocean” and noticeably changed a lyric that mentions the disgraced music mogul.

A video a fan posted via TikTok over the weekend shows Jonas wearing a blank tank top and white pants as he dances along to the catchy pop track, which was first released in 2015.

The song originally featured a lyric that says, “Walk for me, baby/ I’ll be Diddy, you’ll be Naomi, woah-oh.”

At a Jonas Brothers concert in France, Joe Jonas changed a lyric that references Sean “Diddy” Combs in “Cake By the Ocean.” opheliesgr/Tiktok

However, this time, Jonas, 35, appears to mouth another word that is not “Diddy.”

Fans in the comments section speculated about what he could have said during the very subtle change.

“GUYS, it’s ‘I’ll be Martin, u be Naomi’ ❤️❤️,” one person commented, while another chimed in, “I hear the same thing but ppl disagree.”

A third added, “I swear to God I been hearing ‘I’ll be watching you be my only woahh’.”

Jonas’s reps declined Page Six’s request for comment on the lyric change.

The Jonas Brothers member has not addressed the decision himself via social media, either.

Jonas is not the first performer to remove any trace of Combs, 54, in one of his hit tracks.

In November 2023 — after Cassie Ventura settled her rape and abuse lawsuit against the “Bad Boy for Life” rapper — Kesha altered the infamous opening lyric of her 2009 song “Tik Tok.”

The track originally began, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” but the singer, 37, sang at California concert at the time instead, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.”

A few months later, at Coachella, Kesha made an even more pointed dig at Diddy by changing the lyric to “Wake up in the morning like f–k P. Diddy,” while holding her middle finger up high.

The “Die Young” songstress claims she is a survivor of sexual assault herself. In 2014, she sued mega-producer Dr. Luke for allegedly drugging and raping her.

The “Party in the U.S.A.” hitmaker, 51, then countersued her for defamation, launching a lengthy legal battle. The cases ultimately settled in June 2023.

Combs legal issues, however, are seemingly just getting started. Last month, the “Last Night” rapper was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting a prostitute.

Combs has been accused of hosting “freak off” parties in which he engaged in illegal activity. He has denied those allegations.

If convicted, the “I Need a Girl” rapper faces a minimum of 15 years to a maximum life sentence in prison.

Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn without bail as he awaits trial. A court date has not yet been set and investigations are ongoing.

At a press conference Tuesday, a Texas-based attorney revealed 120 more people have stepped up to accuse Combs of sex crimes, including a person who was 9 years old when they were allegedly abused.
