Pedro Martinez Foundation gala to celebrate 20th anniversary of ’04 Red Sox

The Pedro Martinez Foundation will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2004 World Series championship at its eighth annual gala, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

In addition to Pedro Martinez, the Hall of Fame pitcher and former Red Sox ace, other Boston sports legends expected to attend include David Ortiz, Jason Varitek and number other members of the 2004 Red Sox, along with former Patriots stars Ty Law, Jermaine Wiggins, Matt Light and others.

“I always look forward to our annual Gala, but this year will be particularly special because we’ll be together with so many of my teammates from our amazing 2004 Red Sox team,” Martinez said in a press release. “Our team helped bring the city together like no other and I know each of us is grateful for the experience and the City of Boston’s everlasting support for us. It will be a special night filled with lifelong memories, iconic teammates, and crucial, life-changing support for children and families in the Boston area and beyond.”

The Pedro Martinez Foundation was established in 1998 and aims to provide struggling youth in the United States and Dominican Republic with education, health and sports programs so they can thrive and make healthy contributions to society. Tickets to the gala can be purchased at pedromartinezfoundation.com.
