Five men were murdered and their bodies abandoned on the road Heroic Military Collegein the Miguel de la Madrid neighborhood, located in the southeastern area of Culiacán.
This case is part of the wave of violence generated by the dispute between factions of the Sinaloa Cartela conflict that has escalated since the beginning of September.
The discovery, reported around 11:00 p.m., caused a rapid mobilization of the police corporations and the Army towards the site.
The scene is located near another point where it was recently abandoned a truck with bodiessuggesting a pattern in operations criminal linked to this confrontation between criminal groups.
The bodies were transferred to Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for official identification, a process that will be supervised by the Public Ministry and the relatives of the victims.
More acts of violence in the region
In parallel, the State Attorney General’s Office of Sinaloa registered two investigation folders for homicide intentional in other violent incidents.
In the first, a dead man was found in the road that connects Culiacan with Eldorado, near the Costa Rican receivership. In the second, a body was found in the Ejido Echeverríaalso in the municipality of Culiacán.
Reports of theft and disappearances
The prosecutor’s office also reported fourteen complaints for heist of vehicleswhich were formalized and duly registered in the Specialized Vehicle Theft Unit, Central Region.
Likewise, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Forced Disappearances reported on six new complaints for deprivation of liberty personnel in the municipality of Culiacán, reflecting the panorama of insecurity that the region lives.
