The training of human talent that drives the Sonora Plan of Sustainable Energies within institutions such as Sonora State University (UES), places the entity at the forefront in the professionalization of students in production issues. lithium and semiconductors, the governor highlighted Alfonso Durazo mountainwithin the framework of the celebrations of the 41st anniversary of the academic institution.
The state leader highlighted the importance of young Sonorans preparing for the challenges of the future, and that their academic training responds to sustainable development for the comprehensive growth of the state, as established by the Sonora Plan.
“I want great engineers, doctors, teachers, municipal presidents, governors, and governors to come out of here, why not? Prepare and give it your all, the future is bright,” he indicated.
What diplomas and master’s degrees are being developed?
Martha Patricia Patiño Fierrorector of the State University of Sonora, mentioned that in this institution of higher education originated the first lithium diplomaand a second edition is currently being prepared, in addition to being part of the Semiconductor University Consortium.
Likewise, he is planning to complete a master’s degree in Materials science on the subject of polymers of semiconductors and their characterization.
Froylán Gámez Gamboasecretary of Education and Culturehighlighted that more than 30 percent of the UES student enrollment is a beneficiary of the Scholarships Sonora of Opportunities which has allowed the dropout rates in the state to decrease significantly.
The UES was created in 1983, as Center for Higher Studies of the State of Sonora (Cesues), in San Luis Rio Coloradocurrently has five Academic Units, strategically located in HermosilloSan Luis Río Colorado, Navojoa, Cupcake and Benito Juarez.
How many students are enrolled at the University?
It has a student enrollment of 14,982 students (14,160 in-person, 782 virtual and 40 postgraduate), with 1,120 teachers and more than 25,651 graduates of its classrooms. Its educational offering includes 24 undergraduate and engineering programs and five postgraduate programs, in addition to four virtual programs.
