Ignacio Mier, Morena’s vice coordinator in the Senate, assured that with the approval of the energy reforms and to reactivate passenger trains, the fourth transformation and its second floor “advance at full speed.”
He maintained that with these two reforms, in addition to the Judicial reform, minimum wages, recognition of indigenous peoples, progress is being made in approval of ‘Plan C’ proposed by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador and also promoted by the president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
”We have completed five of the 17 reforms of ‘Plan C’, we are moving forward at full speed and no one stops this second floor of the fourth transformation. These proposals that we have approved in the Congress of the Union are for the benefit of families and will allow the boost and growth of Mexico’s economy.
“In terms of railways, this reform is important for the economy of families and the development of many regions of Mexico that when the railways were privatized there were many losses and generated areas of backwardness and poverty,” said Ignacio Mier.
He gave as an example ‘Hope’a large railway station that employed more than 3,000 families and when this service was privatized, it left thousands of Pueblans in poverty.
The same in Oriental and in the capital of Puebla itself. Also, with the energy reform, Ignacio Mier explained, “for the first time we are recovering for the benefit of Mexico one of the two most important productive companies in the world, which is CFE.”
“They thought electricity was a commodity. We are returning electricity to Mexico as a human right, which is why the Mexican State regains control with this reform,” added Mier Velazco.
He clarified that with this reform foreign investment will be allowed, but the Mexico will have strategic control not Spanish, Italian, or French companies, so that they do not supply something that is a right for the country.
“Today 80 percent of economic and daily activity, of economic and labor activities, is moved by electricity. In the next 10 years it will be 90 percent. That is why it is important to have control and reserve electricity, lithium and oil for the benefit of Mexicans, which is why we work for our sovereignty and our heritage,” he pointed out.
