Balsas River current is about to reach Puente Infiernillo Michoacán- Grupo Milenio

The recent torrential rains caused by Hurricane John severely impacted the region of Michoacancausing a significant increase in the levels of the dams that make up the Balsas River water system.

The Infiernillo damone of the most important in the region, has registered a notable rise in its waters, which generated concern among local population.

One of the points more critical is the Infiernillo bridge, which is currently located just a few meters from being reached by the river, which represents a considerable risk for communications and transit in the area.

If the rains continue or new discharges occur in the dam, the water level could reach the infrastructure.

For several days, the Michoacan prisoners have carried out releasesincluding the Infiernillo dam, which discharges into the La Villita dam, maintaining high water levels.

The bridge has been a point where multiple accidentswhich have damaged the structure, leading to several repairs and reinforcements of it.

A few months ago, on that same bridge, a firefighter from the municipality of Lazaro CardenasMichoacán, after being hit by a fire truck that ran out of brakes while emergency services worked putting out a fire vehicle at the location.

The Infiernillo bridge, located on the Balsas Rivermarks the division between the states of Michoacán and Guerrero, specifically between the municipalities of Arteaga and Coahuayutla.
