The Bishops of Mexico expressed their concern about the acts of violence that have been recorded in ChilpancingoWarrior. They specified that both the beheading of the municipal president of that entity, Alejandro Arcos Catalán and the murder of Francisco Gonzalo Tapiawho had just taken office as government secretary of said mayor’s office, are facts that dismay the country and “reveal an alarming situation”.
Likewise, the conference of Episcopate Mexico he expressed his prayers for the victims and their affected families with the wave of violence “We express our most sincere solidarity and spiritual closeness with those who suffer these irreparable losses.”
The leadership of Mexican Catholicism listed the actions that they consider to be taken into account by the various levels of government to achieve peacehow to urgently resort to the National Peace Agenda and implement pacification processes in regions affected by violence.
They urged the authorities to take immediate action to guarantee the peace and well-being of citizens. “as well as to clarify these crimes and do justice, restoring the rule of law”. Also invite society to unite to build a more just and fraternal society to achieve peace.
The clerics who make up the Episcopate conference reiterated their commitment to accompany the victims of violence and work for reconciliation and peace in the communities in which they are pastors. Finally, they sent their condolences to the mourners and joined in prayer for the people of Chilpancingo and all of Mexico, but not before entrusting God with the protection of the country.
