Claudia Schiffer designs the most exclusive pieces to dress the table this fall

The collection Gudrun of Claudia Schiffer for Vista Alegre and Bordallo Pinheiro, has been designed by the model herself, who chose the family home, Coldham Hall, located in Suffolk (United Kingdom) to be inspired and create these porcelain and ceramic pieces. Schiffer’s mother and her childhood memories as inspiration

Both the tableware and decorative collections have been named after the model’s late mother, Gudrun Schiffer, an avid gardener. This fact, as well as childhood memories of the family garden and the landscape that surrounds the house in Schiffer’s native Germany, have helped create the motifs, shapes and details of the collection. It is the model herself who has explained that “Gudrun is the name of my latest porcelain collection with Vista Alegre and the ceramic collection with Bordallo Pinheiro. It is the name of my late mother and is dedicated to all my childhood memories linked to the field. Watching the squirrels from my bedroom window, collecting acorns while my mother gathered autumn leaves. Listen to the woodpeckers and sleep to the sound of birdsong. These memories inspired me to create these new collections. The designs are very mine and I am very proud of the result”.

A collection that respects the brands’ traditional techniques

To give life to the designs that Claudia Schiffer had in her head and wanted to create, the development of shapes and patterns was very important, which had to respect the traditional techniques of Bordallo Pinheiro. Regarding colors and paints, several tests were carried out to find the tones idealized by Claudia Schiffer, but also the naturalism of the represented motifs so characteristic of the brand..
