Residents of Parácuaro reported attacks with explosive “spells” launched from drones, which caused damage to tin roofs in several homes, with no confirmed injuries as a result of these attacks.
The situation was initially reported on social networks, which caused a rapid mobilization of elements of the Mexican Army and the Civil Guard. The arrival of the security forces dissuaded the attackers, who ceased the attacks and left the area.
The authorities have intensified their presence and patrols in the region with the aim of preventing new acts of violence. So far, no injuries or deaths have been reported as a result of the explosions.
Military sources indicate that these types of attacks are part of the disputes between organized crime groups, who seek to expand their control over the territory. These attacks are usually directed at properties linked to their rivals, as occurred on August 31 in Cenobio Moreno, Apatzingán, where a similar attack against a clandestine explosives workshop left seven people dead.
