Sonora registers an export growth of 39.76 percent in the last three years, going from 5.6 billion dollars in 2021 to 7.84 billion dollars in 2024, according to official figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). , the result of large investment and sustainable development projects such as the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan, reported Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.
The state leader mentioned that, in the second quarter of 2024, Sonora grew 15.10 percent in terms of exports, breaking a historical dynamic, and positioning itself as the leading state on the northern border in this economic activity.
“The state of Sonora stands out among the border entities with the highest export growth, as a result of the promotional work we have done to position the state as an economic development platform for large industries,” he said.
Sonora is positioned as the first local exporting economy, registering greater growth from the automotive, aerospace and electronics industries, driven by the development platform that the Sonora Plan guarantees for the supply of goods outside the country.
The subsectors with the greatest participation in the entity are the manufacturing of transportation equipment with 2,607 million dollars, which represents 33.26 percent of total exports; the manufacturing of computing, communication, measurement equipment and other electronic equipment, components and accessories with 1,063 million dollars, which represents 13.56 percent; and agriculture with 991 million dollars, which means 12.64 percent.
