Excessive security cordon in San Lázaro for inauguration: PRI- Grupo Milenio

I think that Mexico is not waiting for violence to break out during a ceremony that I think is important for everyone.

“Nobody is arguing about Mrs. Sheinbaum’s victory, so obviously we are worried about ourselves. Who knows what they are thinking,” he said.

In an interview, Moreira said that It’s the first time which observes a fence of the magnitude that now exists around the San Lázaro enclosure.

“I think that what is being done is unnecessary; it is the first time I have seen something of this magnitude. There has always been security, because the people who come to our country deserve it and that must be understood, but I counted three or four fences that there are today,” he accused.

However, Morena member Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, dismissed the operation and said it is more a matter of order than security.

“Today we are going to have a large group of young people who are going to come to witness the decision that is going to be discussed and we are going to have a little more control over access, precisely to have a lot of order on the day of the inauguration. It is more a matter of order than security,” he said.

He said that the security operation in the Chamber of Deputies will continue until the day of Claudia Sheinbaum’s inauguration, and even starting this Thursday. access will be further restricted for some people.
