Armed confrontations, roadblocks and the burning of vehicles in several municipalities in Michoacán were reported this afternoon, prompting an inter-institutional operation.
The shootings took place in the municipality of Erongarícuaro where personnel from the Attorney General’s Office were allegedly shot.
Later, in the municipalities of Quiroga, Churintzio, Chilchota, Tangancícuaro and Pátzcuaro, burning of vehicles and roadblocks were reported.
In the town of Capula, in the municipality of Morelia, civilians tried to burn a bus, but only managed to get through the unit.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least eight units were set on fire.
So far, the state authorities have not confirmed the number of victims or those arrested.
