The Gaza Strip this Thursday surpassed the 41,700 deaths registered in almost a year of Israeli offensiveafter 24 hours of devastating attacks, according to the latest hospital count published by the Ministry of Health Gaza, controlled by Hamas.
On Wednesday they arrived at hospitals from the enclave 99 bodies and 169 wounded, bringing the total number of deaths from the beginning of the war to 41 thousand 788 and the number of injured is 96,794, not counting the thousands of bodies that are still buried under the rubble.
​The figures published today, much higher than what had been recorded in the territory in recent weeks, coincide with a worsening of the Israeli bombings against the entire Strip, including displaced persons centers which, according to Israel, Hamas uses to hide and plan attacks.
They accuse attacks against homes and civilians
The deadliest incident took place in the towns of Khan Younis and Rafah, in the south, where an Israeli raid the day before left at least 58 dead.
According to the Qatari network Al Jazeerathe raid, which lasted hours, was supported by artillery fire and several residential buildings were destroyed as people took shelter inside.
Additionally, Israel attacked a UN agency school for children on Wednesday. palestinian refugees (Unrwa) in the Nuseirat refugee campwhich caused four deaths and 15 injuries.
According to Palestinian sources in the enclave, the intensity of the attacks is related to the Iran attack with almost 200 missiles on Tuesday, which put Israeli forces on alert, fearful that the Palestinian population would take advantage of the situation to cross borders.
So far this Thursday, at least seven people, including a minor, have been killed in two Israeli attacks, both against Nuseirat residencesaccording to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
Israel boasts progress in war against Hamas
The Israeli Army, for its part, said this Thursday that in the last three months it has killed more than 450 militiamen and dismantled about eight kilometers of tunnels in the center of the Strip.
One of the alleged militiamen eliminated in these attacks, this past night, was Aziz Salhawho participated in the Lynching in RamallahWest Bank, from the year 2000 in which two Israeli soldiers died, during the Second Intifada (2000-05), and who was immortalized in a famous photograph with his hands stained with blood.
