Heartbreak as body of man, 43, missing from Kildare discovered as search stood down by gardai

A SEARCH operation for a missing man has been stood down after his body was tragically discovered.

Gardai issued an urgent appeal when Andrew Brady went missing from Allenwood Co Kildare on Tuesday.

Cops and Andrew’s family were concerned for his welfare.

The 43-year-old was last seen around 2pm in the Allenwood area and it’s believed her was travelling in a 171 registration Grey Skoda Superb.

Following the discovery of a body in Kildare, Gardaí confirmed the search has been stood down.

A garda spokesperson said: “Following the discovery of a man’s body in Co. Kildare, the missing person appeal in respect of 43-year-old Andrew Brady, who has been missing from Allenwood, Co. Kildare since Tuesday, 24th September 2024, has now been stood down.

“No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time.

“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter.”

Separately, the body of a man who went missing from his home in Co Tipperary 49 days ago was found yesterday.

The search for tragic Mateusz ‘Matty’ Margol was stood down by Gardai following the discovery of a body.

The 35-year-old was first reported missing from Nenagh, Co Tipperary on Wednesday, August 7.

He was last seen wearing blue ripped jeans, a black jacket and a baseball cap on Ormond Drive in Nenagh before 9am that morning.

He was described as being of thin build, standing at 5ft 10inches in height with black hair.

When Mateusz was reported missing, Gardai said they were “concerned” for his wellbeing and asked anyone with information to come forward.

TRAGIC UPDATE

In an update yesterday, they confirmed that the search had been stood down.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Following the discovery of a man’s body, the missing person appeal in respect of 35-year-old Mateusz (Matty) Margol, who was reported missing from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary on Wednesday 7th August 2024, has now been stood down.

“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter.

“No further action is required and no further information is available at this time.”
