Inflation in Mexico in the first half of September 2024: Inegi- Grupo Milenio

The inflation in Mexico maintained a deceleration in the first half of September, reaching 4.66 percent annually, after thel National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) increased by 0.09 percent at a biweekly rate, According to figures from the INational Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

However, the index is still far from the official target of
Bank of Mexico (Banxico) of 3 percent.

In the same fortnight of 2023the biweekly inflation was 0.25 percent and the annual inflation, of 4.44 percent.

The core price index rose 0.21 percent at a biweekly rate and 3.95 percent at an annual rate.

In In the same period, the non-core price index recorded a change of less than 0.31 percent biweekly and 6.73 percent annually.

Within the underlying index, at a biweekly rate, commodity prices grew 0.18 percent and services, 0.24 percent.

Within the non-core index, at a biweekly rate, the prices of agricultural products decreased by 0.83 percent and energy prices and government-authorized rates increased 0.11 percent.
