The US government sanctioned two companies in Mexico in a parallel action for being owned by people involved in fentanyl trafficking with the Sinaloa Cartel, as well as five Colombian members of the Gulf Clan.
Through the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States Department of the Treasury, the company was sanctioned in Mexico Snow and Popsicles EVIbased in Culiacán, Sinaloa, and owned by the spouses and drug traffickers Jesus Larranaga Herreraalias The 30thand Karla Gabriela Lizarraga Sanchezboth already included on the US sanctions list.
The second company sanctioned was Pharmacy and Mini Super Trinidadbased in Nogales, Sonora, and owned by Jose Arnoldo Morgan Huertaalias Chachioa drug trafficker also included on the OFAC sanctions list and brother and colleague of Juan Carlos Morgan, alias Cacayoanother drug dealer.
Cacayor is identified as the plaza boss Sinaloa Cartel in Nogales, responsible for overseeing the trafficking of tons of drugs such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
On the other hand, for being part of the Clan del Golfo, or Los Urabeños, an organization based in Colombia, with a military style of operations and dedicated mainly to drug and human trafficking, they were sanctioned. Jose Miguel Demoya Hernandeza cocaine trafficker, Alexander Celis Durango, a high-ranking financial boss, currently detained and subject to extradition proceedings, José Gonzalo Sánchez Sánchez, second in command in the clan and José Córdoba Quinto and Jesús Alcaraz Morales, migrant traffickers.
This sanction implies that all assets of the individuals and companies included in the list and that are in the United States are frozen, in addition to prohibiting any citizen or entity of that country from having commercial relations with them.
