This Saturday morning four police officers community of Coahuayana were injured after a land mine exploded during a confrontation that lasted more than 24 hours in the limits of Michoacan and Colima.
The conflict allegedly broke out due to incursion of an armed group who was trying to enter the municipality.
The events occurred on Friday night, when the community police they were transiting along a canal road that leads to the dam diverting Alleys.
When passing through the area, a land mine explodedcausing serious damage to the vehicle in which they were traveling. Three of the agents they were unconscious inside the truck, while the fourth was thrown into an irrigation canal, where the water helped cushion the impact.
Upon arriving at the scene, the rescuers confirmed that the four police officers were still alive, although they showed symptoms of daze due to the explosion.
The three who remained in the truck they were still unconsciouswhile the fourth, who was ejected from the vehicle and fell into the irrigation canal, was in better conditionsince the water cushioned the blow.
The victims received medical attention at the scene and it was not necessary to transfer them to a hospital.
During the inspection of the area, they located at least three additional landmines that had not detonated, raising concerns about the security in the area affected by the armed conflict.
The authorities They continue working to deactivate these artifacts and restore security in the region.
