Morena will speed up secondary laws for judicial reform: Monreal- Grupo Milenio

The president of the Political Coordination Board and parliamentary leader of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies, Ricardo Monrealaffirmed that his bench will speed up the secondary laws of the judicial reform and could even approve them this week, in case the Senate sends them to you between Wednesday and Thursday.

He stressed the importance of advancing such legislation before the senators issue the call to the election of judges, magistrates and ministersno later than October 16.

“For now, we are going to grant speed to these two, because we have a constitutional mandate that the call for the election of magistrates, ministers and judges must be issued by the Senate of the Republic no later than October 16, that is, next Wednesday,” he noted.

Monreal Ávila warned that said call would be controversial and debatable, if issued before the regulatory legislation.

Secretary of the Interior delivers initiatives to the Senate


The Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, This Monday he delivered to the Senate of the Republic the reform initiatives to the General Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures and the System of Means of Challenge with the “procedural instructions” to make the election of judges, magistrates and ministers viable.

The aim is, with this, to provide legal certainty to the procedures and validate the electoral process, as well as to materialize the autonomy and independence of the Judiciary.

In this regard, Ricardo Monreal confirmed that Morena’s parliamentary majority will also seek to accelerate the integration of the Justice Commission to analyze and rule on the law reforms General of Electoral Institutions and Procedures and the System of Means of Challenge.

“What is desirable, what is convenient, what is constitutionally correct is that we have the regulatory laws, especially the Law of Electoral Procedures and Institutions and the Law of Means of Challenge. The two regulations, in accordance with the constitutional reform, we have to have them before October 16,” he insisted.
